Fodor's Walt Disney World® with Kids 2007 (Special-Interest Titles) ReviewI received my book and I have not put it down. It goes wherever I do. I have read it front to back, highlighted in it, made notes in it. It is FULL of invaluable information for families with children of all ages. My children that are going with us are 3 and 12, so with such a big age difference, I am determined to make the most of the trip and see that they both get to do most, if not all, of the things they want to do.
I bought one of the other guides that was from an "ex-employee" of Disney World. I could have very well saved my $20. This book had all of the same information and more. The other, I had to download from the website, put into a notebook, etc. This book is handy to carry around everywhere.
I cannot imagine going to Disney World without this book's guidance. Thanks to this book, I am positive I will get my money's worth on this trip.

Birnbaum's Walt Disney World 2009 Pocket Parks Guide (Birnbaum's Walt Disney World Pocket Parks Guide) ReviewI am a travel agent, specializing in Disney and Universal travel. I use this book to back up the information I have learned in taking the Disney Travel Agent courses.
I have found that the information in this book is accurate, up to date (as long as you get the latest version) and very helpful.
The descriptions are unbiased and very good. This book covers all the Disney parks in great detail. Wonderful for first time visitors or repeat guests.

Fodor's Walt Disney World® with Kids 2010: with Universal Orlando and SeaWorld (Travel Guide) ReviewThe 2008 edition of the book was our BIBLE for the trip my husband, our 8-year old son, and I took in October of 2008. I relied on it for everything -- whether to buy the meal plan and at what level, fast pass tips, restaurant suggestions, money-saving tips, age-appropriateness of rides, etc. Before our departure, I sat down with the book and planned our itinerary, which turned out perfectly and saved us from wasting lots of time and money. Upon our return, I e-mailed Ms. Wiley to let her know about our trip and our impressions of rides, our hotel, the shuttle service, etc. She e-mailed back immediately, requesting additional information, which she incorporated into the 2009 edition.
Well worth your money! A must-read before any trip to Disney with children! We are headed to D.C. this year, and I wish Ms. Wiley had written the Fodor's guide to D.C., as well!Fodor's Walt Disney World® with Kids 2010: with Universal Orlando and SeaWorld (Travel Guide) Overview

Fodor's Walt Disney World 2012: With Universal, SeaWorld, and the Best of Central Florida (Full-color Travel Guide) ReviewI purchased this book because I love Disney and love up to date information on it. I normally buy books that are exclusive to just Disney but since on our next trip we will also be visiting Universal and SeaWorld I thought I would give this one a try. I decided on this one because I always thought that Fodor's was a reliable source. While it does have some good information provided in it, I found that it was poorly organized and information often repeated. I didn't like that in the middle of explaining something you would turn the page and right there in the middle would be a chart and then a few pages later they would finish explaining things. Example:On page 263 they start listing each attraction at Epcot with a few paragraphs explaining each one. Page 264 has a map of the park. Page 265 continues the explanations of attractions. On page 270 the chart starts with a quick look at the attractions and continues with a tour guide after that. The explanation of attractions then continues on page 274. It makes for a choppy and not very enjoyable read. It would make more sense to keep the map, touring guides, and quick look separate from the actual explanations of each. I can't say I will buy another Fodor's book. If you are interested in Disney info I would suggest The Unofficial Guide Walt Disney World 2012 (Unofficial Guides) along with it's companion The Unofficial Guide: The Color Companion to Walt Disney World (Unofficial Guides). For example, in the Magic Kingdom section, it may have useful info like good resting places (esp. if you have small children), but not in Epcot section, for example. Or the Magic Kingdom has a section about attractions that are good for preschoolers, and the Hollywood Section does not--you have to search all over the place to find this info. Also the index is INCORRECT. Since the book is sometimes all over the place, I tried to use the index to find a specific topic I needed information on. For example, in the index, it says that the topic "Shopping, delivery for onsite guests" should be on page 42--it is not. The whole index is like that. Fodor's Walt Disney World with Kids 2011: with Universal Orlando, SeaWorld & Aquatica (Travel Guide) ReviewMy husband, 13 and 5 year old daughters, and I are Disney veterans. We would rather take a Disney vacation, than almost anything else. We love Disney World, we love Disney Cruises, and we have enjoyed Disneyland a number of times. Needless to say, we own a number of Disney travel guides. I have to say, though, FODOR'S WALT DISNEY WORLD WITH KIDS 2011 is one of the best that I have seen.
To begin with, FODOR'S WALT DISNEY WORLD WITH KIDS 2011 is both well organized and easy to read. A lot of guides have special little hints and tips embedded in their pages, as does FODOR'S WALT DISNEY WORLD WITH KIDS 2011. The difference is that with most other guides, the font on the tips and tricks is smaller, cramped, and hard to read. They also make the pages look busy, confused, and jumbled. However, in FODOR'S WALT DISNEY WORLD WITH KIDS 2011, these helpful hints are in the same size font as the rest of the text. They flow naturally as you read and are indicated with bold lettering or color. This makes looking things up extremely fast and easy.
The chapters in FODOR'S WALT DISNEY WORLD WITH KIDS 2011 are also well done and nicely organized. There is a chapter on hotels, one on each main park, one on each minor park (the water parks, Downtown Disney, etc.), one on dining, and several on NON-Disney attractions like the new Harry Potter park. Each chapter has maps and phone numbers, as well as excellent planning aids. Even with all the times we've visited Disney World, I found places and adventures that were either new or we had missed. This really helped us plan our next trip, when we plan to focus on things we've never seen. Additionally, each chapter provides hints on finding Hidden Mickeys, which is one of my family's favorite pastimes. And one of the best features of FODOR'S WALT DISNEY WORLD WITH KIDS 2011 is that each section includes a list of suitable attractions by age and scare factor. With such a wide age span between my kids, I find these pages to be exceedingly helpful.
As I said before, FODOR'S WALT DISNEY WORLD WITH KIDS 2011 is one of the best guides for Walt Disney World that I have seen. It can replace about 5 other guides that we use. And traveling lightly is always a plus. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all Disney lovers.

Fodor's Walt Disney World 2011: With Universal, SeaWorld, and the Best of Central Florida (Full-color Travel Guide) ReviewI found this WDW reference book to be a completely acceptable tool.....especially for repeat Disney visitors with older children--teens or "tweeners." The book addresses each of the Disney parks in adequate detail...in addition to Universal Studios, Sea World, and waterparks unrelated to Disney. The color photos that the book contains were beautifully done and certainly appreciated. And while this book will certainly serve as my guide and research tool for what I hope will be a visit to the Disney area in the spring, for a first-time visitor (especially one with young children), I would highly recommend The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World (2011 version of course). When I first visited Disney with my young children, this book served as a "bible" of sorts. The Unofficial Guide details each and every ride in each and every Disney park (rather than just the highlights, as is the case in Fodor's reference book), and evaluates it based age-range appeal, scare factor, and more. I carried this book with me the entire week and did not make a move without consulting it first.
Again, completely adequate tool to repeat WDW visitors, but somewhat lacking for those neophyte visitors who require as much information as possible.-DYBFodor's Walt Disney World 2011: With Universal, SeaWorld, and the Best of Central Florida (Full-color Travel Guide) Overview
