He provides a carefully researched and balanced accounting of the development of Christianity in China. I was particularly appreciative of his inclusion of new considerations among scholars concerning long-held assumptions attributing relics to certain religions while not jumping into endorsing conclusions that still lack conclusive evidence. It would have been better if he had allowed himself some latitude to comment on the theological implications of historical developments, and new discoveries but I accept that this would perhaps have strayed from the focus of this work.A New History of Christianity in China (Blackwell Guides to Global Christianity) Overview
